My journey of faith has some similarities, but my spiritual formation feels different since I was never a pastor or in full-time ministry (although I was the spouse of a pastor). What I appreciate in this piece is that it describes a more universal formation process, that anyone can follow. But I also am aware that guiding people like me on this path has to be more purposive, and not left to the chance that I can somehow discover it on my own. Most churches I earlier attended never offered the model you are describing, so usually I felt frustrated. The Gospel of the Kingdom you describe is now where I am too but it is still so rare in being taught and fostered in many, or most, communities of faith.

Hi Dennis, thanks so much for reading! I am with you in trying to learn and grow in my followership of Jesus!
