"Being a living soul created in the image of God means you never again have to be manipulated by the fear-mongering of politicians who tell us that “this election is an existential crisis.” No! Never! Our existence is not dependent on election cycles."
I heard a good reminder about the Jews in Babylon this week where God told the people to seek the prosperity of their nation - even if the nation itself was completely pagan. Ultimately both our sides can picture the nation coming under the influence of a terrible force - one that may even send us into a pointless ( or necessary depending on your view) world war. Perhaps the point is that all this may be out of our control and our focus should be on the church itself.
Thank you for this Spirit inspired work. I have an essay in my drafts about Christian involvement in politics that I plan to publish in a few weeks when we are closer to the election. With your blessing, I would like to add a link to this post and quote a couple of lines from it in that writing.

Amen, Father
The goal of a Christian is not to “win”, it is to pick up our cross and follow Jesus.
Thank you Todd

That would be absolutely fine. Thank you, Greg.
