Dear Readers,
When friends or colleagues ask me about my experience on Substack, I always say that writing for you each week is like “a sermon for my little church.” It’s not an exact analogy, but it captures my heart as I write.
This is personal for me—person to persons. My ideas are not the most important thing. I am writing to serve you, the vast majority of whom I’ve never met.
Like our brains have hemispheres, when I write, one hemisphere has an idea, and the other holds you. These hemispheres interact until, hopefully, something useful emerges.
Our “little church” is growing. We now have 2,200 subscribers. Almost every day, I get at least one notification that a new reader has joined The Gospel of the Kingdom. Each time I see one, I say their name aloud and “Thank you for joining!” This year, my new practice will be to add a prayer for each new member and a prayer for my whole readership.
As we enter this new year, I want to simply say thank you! Thank you for reading. Thank you for inviting others.
My cerebral hemispheres are already interacting with the Spirit, striving to create new, useful posts that serve you in 2025.
Grace and peace,
Todd
P.S. If you have a topic you’d like me to write on this year, let me know.
Thank you, Bishop Todd. Your posts are water to our souls. Your writing is full of integrity, trustworthy, and sound. We look forward to reading each post that comes out and the encouragement and peace that come through the Truth you bring.
Thank you, Courtenay!
